John L. Generous, 74, of Dover, passed away December 29, 2017 in New Dawn Retirement Community.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut on June 2, 1943, he was the son of Sophie Generous and the late Joseph Generous.

John L. Generous, 74, of Dover, passed away December 29, 2017 in New Dawn Retirement Community.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut on June 2, 1943, he was the son of Sophie Generous and the late Joseph Generous.
After graduating from high school, John joined the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country. He ultimately retired from Lauren Manufacturing as a machine operator.
John married his wife, the former Cora B. Davis, on October 24, 1987. Together they enjoyed fishing and John also loved to hunt.
In addition to Cora of Dover, John is survived by his children, Donna (Greg) Schaser of Canton, Charlene (Bill) McMinn of Savannah, Georgia, Debby Generous of Borgoltz, Ohio, and Chuck and Doug Andrews, both of Cleveland; his brother, Paul Generous of Atwoodville, Connecticut.
John was preceded by his father, Joseph, and his grandson, Jody Burnworth in 2015.
Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating John’s life will be held in the funeral home on Friday beginning at 11 am. Entombment will follow in Dover Burial Park.

John will be missed. He was a wonderful person and donated time to his community. I was lucky to be neighbors with John and Cora in Kilgore. He was also a member of the volunteer Fire Department in our community. Thank you for your service.
