James Morrow

November 12, 1947 — April 9, 2018

James “Pee Wee” Morrow, 70, of Dover entered into his eternal home Monday, April 9, 2018 following a period of declining health.

Born at Spartanburg, South Carolina, on November 12, 1947, James was a son of the late Wade Morrow and Luzon Woodruff Todd.

He was a 1967 graduate of Dover High School and furthered his studies at the Northwood University. While in high school, James excelled at football and was honored with numerous awards during his career. His passion for the game carried on long after high school as he coached various area teams for many years. He used his time as a coach to mentor young men and teach them the importance of making positive choices and being good role models in their communities. As his coaching career came to a close, James didn’t move far from the field and could still be found on the sidelines running chains for various games. His alliance to Dover football wasn’t his only passion, he was also an avid fan of Ohio State Football and was rarely dressed in anything but Scarlet and Gray or Crimson and Silver.

James was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church at Dover. Professionally, he was an operator for 30 years at Union Camp, now Arizona Chemical and in his free time enjoyed fishing, talking about football with his friends and family and traveling.

James leaves behind his beloved family, his children, Shara Morrow-Watson of Dover, Aaron Morrow of Dayton, and Lynde Morrow (Daniel Miller) of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his step-children, Charlita Atchison of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Travis Atchison of Daytona Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Absidy Watson, Samantha Blakely, Bryashia Atchison and Christopher Henderson; his sisters, Ruth (Roy) Hunnicutt of New Philadelphia, Gloria (Beautford) Keenon of Spartanburg, SC, Jackie (David) Amos of South Euclid; brothers, Frank and Wade Morrow of Spartanburg, SC, and Fred (Denise) Todd of Mansfield; his sister-in-law, Madeline Morrow of New Philadelphia and countless nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother and father, James was preceded in death by his first wife, Willi Pearl Morrow in 1992; his son, Keith Morrow; and his brother, Harry Morrow.

The family will greet guests on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the First Baptist Church, 140 Regent Street, Dover where a memorial homegoing service celebrating his life will be led by Reverend Rasheed As-Samad at 1:00 PM.

Following the funeral, the family invites you to join them for a repast in the Hospitality Room of the Dover Geib Center, 5600 N. Wooster Avenue, Dover.
