I got the privilege of knowing Mr Kelly a few years ago as I was checking blood pressures at the Tisc County Fair. He sat down in my chair and said “I know who you are” and I laughed and said “ and oh I know who you are too Mr. Kelly”! He asked me how I knew him and I told him for yrs when I was a child my mom and I would be in a store and she would take my hand and run me up and down the isles to see if we cld meet up with him so she could talk to him again, but it never happened but she said she certainly understood! She told me everything and said when she was a child she and James would walk home from school together and were secret friends. She adored him. Then years went by and I got to know him since I moved to a Brightwood with my husband. I wkd walk by and talk to him quite a bit and we shared. He was awesome. I felt close to him and loved him very much. Family. In the last 2 months I would not see him out and wondered why? I’m sorry I did not know he was at Hennis. I would have visited him a lot. Ican’t tell you how sad I am that h is gone. The world has lost a great man. May God keep his wonderful wife and family close and be with them during these hard times.

I will always recall and cherish the conversations had with Jim on and off the Golf course. I was fortunate to play golf (riding together) many many times at Green Valley Golf Course. Jim's golf game was MAGIC and so enjoyable to witness and join. We generally settled the world's issues during our weekend and holiday mornings together at the Valley. He provided flowers and grasses for our home many years ago from his own plants. I'm better for knowing Jim for all these 35+ years and will miss him greatly. My sincere sympathies to Jim' wife Joanne and family. Rest in peace now Jim, you done good here!

Sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He grew up with my mother, Madge Grimm and caddy with my Uncle Gene Grimm at the Brightwood Country Club. Played many rounds of golf with Jim at Green Valley. My wife Barb would make a rhubarb pies for him and Joanne. Great man and a good friend and will be missed.
