Dear Naomi and the entire Hizer family, all us at George's' other home, Colonial acres, would like you to know how saddened we are of Eric's passing. I would like you all to know the depth of George's love for his 'dad'. George was with us at the time of Eric's passing and, while hard to believe, George knew what happened. George started barking and was noticeabley distraught all day. He just wouldn't settle down. He somehow knew his dad was gone. The depth of Eric's love for his family is evident in this example. May you all take comfort in the knowledge that God is good and although you suffer the pain of this great loss, may you take comfort in remembering how loved you. May God bless you and keep you.

So sorry for your loss prayers are with the whole family God bless everyone. Ron Fertig posted on 3/22/17

Dear Joanie and Tom, How sad I was to read of Eric's passing. You were wonderful parents, and Eric was an inspirational person. I know the many times he helped Mom ("Dutch" Stevenson) when all of you lived on 17th St., she would tell me what a young gentleman he was. Hold on to your faith and know others are thinking of you. In deepest sympathy, Melody Leggett Liberatore

Naomi and dog George, Nathan & Hedda, Tom & Joan, Nicolas, Matt and Families, Having never met your Husband nor his playmate, your brother nor your son, but reading about his joy of life and those experiences that it brought to him in this earthly life, and knowing the character and nature of his brother Nathan, I cannot but understand what a gentle, compassionate and loving man that Eric Shawn Hizer was in this earthly realm. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Eric’s competitive advantage, his compassion for the things he loved, his desire to learn and to share those characteristics with the world makes for a reason to celebrate his life and to morn your loss with you. Keeping your wonderful memories close and knowing the joy you all brought to Eric, and understanding that he is running with Bruzer in the greatest marathon of them all, eternity, that Eric having so many joys here on earth, patiently will await your time, to share those joys, run those marathon races, and to dance the salsa dance, tease and tickle those nieces and nephews as if he has been here with you all the time. Our Journey in this life is yet short, our eternity is forever. Celebrate this short journey with anticipation of seeing Eric once again in Eternity! May Our God, watch over and protect you during this time and as you travel back to your destinations where God has intended you to be, provide you with safe travel and with comfort of the anxiety that unexpected events cause to ones life. Our God loves Naomi, the questions and the whys he knows you have, I wish I had the answer, but if we rely upon our God in our lives, we will eventually understand the answers to those questions and those why's.
