Doris Sarah Kugler

Doris Sarah Kugler, 85, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, November 17, 2017 in Union Hospital at Dover following a recent illness.

A daughter of the late Raymond and Lillie (Pittman) McWilliams, Doris was born September 3, 1932 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Doris graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1950. Then on July 31, 1955, she married Richard Kugler and they raised three children, Mark, Todd and Pamela. The couple shared 52 years of marriage prior to Richard’s passing on April 26, 2008.

She enjoyed attending events at the Tuscarawas County Senior Center and she was an avid fan of Cleveland’s sports teams. Doris also enjoyed playing cards, completing puzzles and reading.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Vicky) Kugler and Todd (Shelly) Kugler both of Alliance and Pamela (Jeff) Shepherd of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Krystal (Nathan) Powell of Bolivar, Brittany (John Gallo) Kugler of Indianapolis, Indiana, Amber (Kyle) Hall of New Philadelphia and Curtis Kugler of Denver; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Conner Powell; two sisters, Bonnie (Richard) Zavasky and Nancy (David) Kohler and a brother, Ronald McWilliams.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Ella Mae Marr and two brothers, Lloyd and Junior McWilliams.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Doris’ life will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Creek Cemetery.
