David Berentz

David D. Berentz, 76, of New Philadelphia passed away in Union Hospital at Dover on March 2, 2018.

Born in New Philadelphia on June 16, 1941, he was the son of the late Clifford and V. Lucille (Morrison) Berentz. After completing his formal education at New Philadelphia High School, Dave worked many years at the former Evans Brick Plant in Midvale.

Dave married the former Theresa Zuchegno on July 10, 1961, who preceded him in passing in 2017. Together, they were blessed with the birth of their son and daughter.

Dave was a avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and greatly enjoyed his walks in nature. He also was a New Philadelphia Quaker sports fan.

Dave will be deeply missed by his daughter, Tina (Scott) Keffer of Dover; two grandchildren, Brandon (Audrey Wolfe) Keffer of Massachusetts and Amanda Keffer of Dover; his brother, Clifford (Donna) Berentz of New Philadelphia; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dave was preceded in death by his son, Steven Berentz.

Visitation will be held Tuesday March 6, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Dave’s life will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will take place at a later date.
