Clarence Elmer Basiletti, of Dover, passed away in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia one day shy of his 93rd birthday, on October 30, 2018.

He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Dover, as well as the Ohio Operating Engineers and the United Mine Workers of America.

Clarence’s favorite pastimes included playing cards, enjoying time with his family and following his passion for fishing.

Clarence will be missed by his children, Melanie (Marvin) Byers of New Philadelphia, Marge (Ron) Onslow of Stone Creek, Brian (Cyndi) Basiletti of New Philadelphia, and Brent (Michele) Basiletti of Tippecanoe; his grandchildren, Carl (Amy) Sommers III, Jason (Jenn) Sommers, Monica (Sam) Ulmer, Adam Byers, Alan (Kim) Byers, Andy (Beth) Byers, Shannon (Glen) Karrenbauer, Justin Onslow, Matthew (Brittany) Onslow, Andrew (Kayla) Onslow, Chuck Slagle, Kasey and Starlyn Basiletti, and Rocco Basiletti; as well as his great-grandchildren, Slayde, Zayne, McKenzie, Brandon, Michaela, Tyler, Tanner, Morganne, AJ, Benjamin, and Colin. Also surviving are his siblings, Romona Weber, Emmett Basiletti and Lester Basiletti; and brother-in-law, Ward Hicks.

In addition to his parents and wife, Clarence was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Basiletti; great-granddaughter, Marissa Ulmer; and 13 brothers and sisters.
