Beverly “Bev” Marburger, 69, of Beach City, passed away after a lengthy, hard-fought battle with cancer, Saturday, February 4, 2017 in care of the Kobacker House at Columbus, Ohio.

A daughter of Ethel Aschenbrenner, Beverly was born October 16, 1947 at Columbus, Ohio.

Beverly graduated from Washington Hospital School of Nursing and proudly served her community as a registered nurse for many years.  Most of those years were spent with the Park Village Health Care Center.  Beverly eventually became the Director of Nursing at Park Village and continued working there for over 10 years.  She also served as the President of the Beach City Community Improvement Corporation.

Beverly’s biggest joy in life was her family.  Her life was brightened with every minute she spent with her children and grandchildren.  Together they made many memories, including camping at Salt Fork and listening to her amazing stories while gathered around the fire.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dale Marburger, whom she married January 11, 1997; three daughters, Christina (Matt) Scott of Lewis Center, Ohio, Danielle (Dan) Welch of Greer, South Carolina, Jodi (Shawn) Leberknight of Granville, Ohio and; a step-son, Brian (Lea) Marburger of Brewster, Ohio; a step-daughter, Chris (Jim) Menne of Westerville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Alex and Skylar Welch, Amelia Leberknight, Grace Menne, Erin Bernhardt, Cody Grove, Gunnar and Hunter Striker; three siblings, Mat (Althea) Aschenbrenner, Fyffe (Ron) Aschenbrenner-Harris, and Adam (Missy) Aschenbrenner.

Beverly is preceded in death by her step-father, Ray Aschenbrenner; her brother, Thor Aschenbrenner and her sister, Dawn Williamson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 5 to 8 PM at the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.  A service celebrating Beverly’s life will be held Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 10:30 at the funeral home and cremation care will be handled through the Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.   The family asks that for anyone attending to please wear bright colors, in order to honor Beverly’s bright spirit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute at 460 West 10th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43210 or the Kobacker House,  800 McConnell Dr, Columbus, OH 43214.

My favorite memory of Bev is that she was always willing to play games with the family on any occasion. The one that was also so simple but fun is the name game. She had such a great time trying to come up with a name with where the letters in the first and last name were the same so that the flow of play would reverse. Once in a while she'd try to slip in some obscure 1950's reference that none of us knew. Bev, we all will miss you dearly. Rest in peace.

Your light shined bright in this world and your love will forever be a part of our hearts. We will miss you so very much. A huge void has now been created where your hugs are now gone. Until we meet again, I will always treasure the example you set for us girls and the love you gave unconditionally. I love you Momby...always and forever,
